The Color Purple
8 p.m., Friday, February 10th
In 1982, Alice Walker described the story of two sisters in rural Georgia expressed through a series of letters. The Color Purple is based on the classic Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and the poignant movie by Steven Spielberg. Although the Tony- and Grammy-award winning musical courageously exposes challenging issues such as racism and domestic abuse, it celebrates the inspiring story of a woman who chose forgiveness over bitterness, joy over violence and grief, and hope out of desolation.
